Biographies
Andy Lingard, PhD - Head of Software
Prior to joining EMB in November 2004, Andy spent 5 years as board member and software development director of a UK-based software company providing optimisation and decision support applications used to manage international internet networks. He was part of the management team that created the company and took it from start-up to successful acquisition by Cisco Systems.
Andy has also been Deputy Technical Director of a major division of Alenia-Marconi Systems, a company providing command, control and simulation systems. His responsibilities at AMS included control of multi-million pound R&D programmes, coordination of product strategy and chairmanship of company-wide technology and software process teams.
Andy has a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (automated plan generation and decision support) from Imperial College London and a first-class degree in Electronics Engineering & Computer Science from UCL. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
At EMB, Andy leads EMB’s growing software business, contributing expertise in:
