Biographies

Fuminori Ogawa, FIAJ

Fumi founded EMB Japan after a 25-year career in the non-life insurance industry in Japan. He graduated in Mathematics from Kyoto University and began his career as a non-life actuary at Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance. After 10-years at Tokio, he moved to several global insurance groups such as AXA and Zurich, where he led actuarial and product development divisions and extended his professional expertise. Fumi also headed up the non-life insurance practice in two global actuarial consulting firms in Japan.

Just before founding EMB Japan, Fumi worked for Aon Re Japan as a senior vice president responsible for actuarial consulting services. Fumi is a qualified actuary in Japan (FIAJ). He has extensive experience with pricing for primary and reinsurance business, product development, reinsurance optimisation, and capital management.
