Mike Wilkinson - Management Consultant
Mike Wilkinson joined EMB Consulting from Deloitte & Touche in 2005 where he was a Director in its insurance consulting practice. Previously with Bacon & Woodrow, he has almost 20 years experience of working with the insurance industry, covering a broad range of sectors and developments.
Mike advises clients on a range of issues including new market entry, expanding distribution, new start-ups, operational transition and introducing new technology. He has also recently helped to develop and implement approaches to new regulatory requirements including Integrated Prudential Sourcebook (PSB), Basel II and insurance mediation.
Examples of recent projects include:
- Review of business strategy for a personal lines intermediary business, assessing the markets in which it operates and new areas for potential growth to set the future direction;
- Gap analysis, planning and advice on risk assessment and management for a composite insurer to ensure it could meet the FSA’s requirements for the Integrated Prudential Sourcebook (PSB) and Internal Capital Model (ICA);
- Defining the operational strategy and future business model for multi-national broker’s European personal lines distribution operation, to identify market, distribution, operational and technology synergies across the various countries;
- Leading the IT workstream for a major UK bancassurer’s group-wide implementation of PSB and Basel II regulation, covering banking, mortgages, life insurance, general insurance and investment management in the UK and internationally.
