Stéphane Chappellier, FFIA
Stéphane founded EMB France after a 20 year career gaining experience in actuarial aspects of general insurance. He has dealt with personal and commercial insurance as well as reinsurance and has extensive expertise in pricing, reserving and valuation of companies with regard to mergers and acquisition. In his various positions, Stéphane has acquired a vast knowledge of the French market as well as a broad understanding of International markets.
Stéphane graduated from the French business school “Institut Supérieur de Gestion” in 1986 and became a Fellow of the French Institute of Actuaries in 1994.
After business school, Stéphane joined the largest French insurance group AXA, working both for their reinsurance and global risks subsidiary. He held the position of Manager of the Actuarial Department and was responsible for the implementation of the best actuarial practice in several foreign subsidiaries specialising in personal lines.
In 2000, Stéphane joined Deloitte where he participated in the reserve certification of large non-life insurers and reinsurers in France. In 2001, Stéphane joined Tillinghast where he was instrumental in developing their non-life practice in France. He left in March 2006 to become the founding partner of EMB France based in Paris.
Stéphane is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences in France. He has directed more than a dozen actuarial theses, several of which were presented at ASTIN Colloquia.
