Ex-Progressive General Manager contributes over 20 years of insurance experience to the industry-leading actuarial team at EMB
San Diego, CA and London, UK – December 3, 2007 – EMB America (www.embamerica.com), one of the leading property and casualty (P&C) actuarial consulting firms in America, today announced that Robin Harbage has joined the company as Senior Consultant. Prior to EMB, Harbage worked for Progressive and Nationwide in both actuarial and product development functions. At Progressive, he began as Chief Actuary working up to General Manager, North Region, and was responsible for introducing new and creative products to previously untapped market segments.
This range of positions within Progressive provided Harbage with the industry experience to understand both poles of the insurance-services spectrum: as an actuary and as general manager of the direct product. As a result, Harbage has a unique grasp of all aspects of insurance operations, including actuarial, marketing initiatives and product management.
Harbage is also involved extensively with actuarial industry associations. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. This appointment closely follows that of Alice Gannon, who joined EMB as a senior consultant in July 2007 from USAA where she was Chief Actuary.
