What EMB can Provide

Independent review of outstanding liabilities

Whether in the context of mergers & acquisitions, providing a statutory report to the FSA or just out of a need for an independent second opinion, EMB can undertake a full review of outstanding liabilities relating to all accounts of a business, including reinsurance analysis, variability studies and the provision of reports adhering to GN12.

Regular, on-going analysis of account performance

As part of the continual monitoring of account performance, EMB can undertake regular reviews of outstanding claims reserves, enabling businesses to quickly identify emerging trends and react accordingly. A full review can start with the processing of the raw data and include a full analysis of reinsurance programmes and the study of the variability surrounding a reserve estimate. Great importance is placed on the clear communication of the results of our analysis and regular meetings to discuss progress and findings are an integral part of this process.

'Healthchecks’ on in-house methodologies employed

As well as providing a formal view of reserve strength, EMB can perform a peer-review of the internal reserving methodology employed within a company and advise on best-practice approach and how to progress moving forward. Again, emphasis is placed on the clear communication of ideas.

Training

EMB provide comprehensive courses in the use of our specialist reserving software, ResQ Pro, that cater for all levels of experience whether new to our products or converting from our ResQ2 software. These provide guidance and advice from the initial structuring of data to reporting the results and encompass a number of methodologies included within ResQ Pro.
Also available are general courses in the techniques involved in personal lines reserving that introduces concepts such as the Chainladder method and frequency/severity trend analyses and advises on best practice.

Common to all of the above lies the EMB philosophy of developing long-term relationships with clients and the transfer of knowledge, whereby we train your staff to take on our role enabling us to concentrate on adding further value and developing innovative new approaches.
